License Update

Overview

The two license entries DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_KEY / DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_CIPHER are provided by Finogeeks personnel; update them in .env and restart the services for the change to take effect. When the license expires, the login API returns 403 (error code DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_EXPIRED); follow this page to renew.

Steps

1. Log in to the deployment server and enter the deploy directory

ssh root@<customer-server-IP>
cd /data/chatkit-offline-release-<actual-version>-linux-amd64/deploy

2. Back up the current .env

cp .env .env.bak.$(date +%Y%m%d%H%M%S)

3. Update the license

Edit .env, locate the following two lines and replace them with the new values:

DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_KEY=
DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_CIPHER=

Save and exit.

Make sure no old DEPLOYMENT_LICENSE_CIPHER residue remains in the file, and there are no extra newlines or spaces.

4. Restart for the new license to take effect

./scripts/fleet.sh basic down
./scripts/fleet.sh basic up -d

The basic argument can be omitted (equivalent; the script prints a deprecation warning for it).

5. Verify the update

Access the admin console directly.
